Energy Works Michigan Awards $500 Greening Michigan Grant to Three GLSI Schools

The Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative (GLSI) is proud to announce that Energy Works Michigan recently awarded three Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative schools a Greening Michigan Classroom Grant.
The $500 grants were awarded to Chassell Township School of Chassell, BRIDGE Alternative High School of Hancock, and Houghton High School of Houghton. The grants will be used for activities in the classroom that encourage building a more sustainable future, including compost bins to reduce food waste, recycling of craft materials, and schoolwide recycling programs.
Energy Works Michigan is a nonprofit organization working to build a sustainable, equitable, and prosperous energy future. The Michigan Public Service Commission provided Energy Works Michigan grants to distribute to K–12 public and private schools through programs such as the Michigan Renewable Schools Program, which promotes energy efficiency throughout the state.
