Jon Yoder

Jon Yoder was an award-winning Biology teacher at North Salem High School (Oregon) for 23 years and is currently the Salem-Keizer School District’s Science Program Assistant, coordinating and supporting science programs. He has been involved in coordinating the Mill Creek project, a restoration and education project along Mill Creek, and is the founder of the Straub Environmental Learning Center (SELC) located there. The SELC serves as a school classroom and community center for environmental education programming developed by the “Friends” nonprofit group that Jon organized. Jon has also been the Secondary Education Coordinator for the Northwest Center for Sustainable Resources for the past 12 years. In that capacity, he writes educational manuals, speaks at state and national conferences, and conducts teacher institutes for educators from across the country.

Yoder holds a BS from Eastern Mennonite University and an MAT from Western Oregon University.
