The evaluation of the GLSI is a long-term effort guided by a series of evaluation questions organized into the following categories:
- Overall initiative design and implementation
- Implementation of the three core strategies
- Impacts on participants (including students, teachers, partners, and communities)
- Sustainability of the effort
In the GLSI’s early stages, much of the evaluation effort is focused on the implementation process, including documentation of the scope of funded programs, varying approaches to the three core strategies, and basic measures of satisfaction with the programs. As the GLSI develops and begins to mature, both as an integrated effort and in the context of individual regions, outcomes for students and communities and means of sustaining the work will be increasingly prominent focal points of the evaluation.
